On Saturday, July 29, we will be hiking at Woodard Bay to see the bats. Click here for a map. There is an old railroad bridge at the water that houses one of the biggest colony of bats around. Every night, hundreds of them take off for their nightly feeding. We will be meeting at 7:45 to walk down and it will go until after sunset. There is a longer trail that many of us will take that is about 1 1/2 miles. There is also a more direct path about 3/4 of a mile. Bring your flashlights for the walk back. The trail we take is at the parking lot near the creek. There is another parking lot up the road if it fills. We may need to shuttle people down if we get a crowd. You will need a Discover Pass (click here for more info). There is no pay station there. See you there!
